Forgive us our trespasses

Elementary Sunday School read The Zax by Dr. Seuss. There are two kinds of Zax's; those that go north and those that go south. When a north-going Zax and a south-going Zax find themselves on a collision course, what happens is a lesson in pride. The kids discussed times that their pride stood in the way of doing what was best. They read the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32 and talked about how hard it was for both the son and the dad to set aside their pride and admit they were wrong. They found a great answers in the Lord's Prayer. "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." Setting aside pride and forgiving ourselves and others is a wonderful place to start.
